How We Rank AI Headshot Generators

Updated 2026-10-18 · Prices, refund and privacy terms checked 2026-10-18 · No hands-on testing

We haven’t generated headshots with these tools, and we know of no independent, published test of AI headshot quality. So we rank only on what can be verified before you pay. We give no quality scores or stars.

What we compare, in priority order

  1. Refund terms. Every tool produces some unusable images, according to user reports. A clear, fair refund rule protects you more than anything else.
  2. Privacy and data retention. How long the tool keeps your uploaded face photos and trained model, whether it uses them for AI training, and whether you can delete them yourself.
  3. Price transparency and value. A published price before upload, and the number of headshots at the entry tier.
  4. Turnaround, as each tool states it.
  5. Complaint patterns. Recurring themes in recent one- and two-star Trustpilot reviews and Reddit threads. We don’t rank by Trustpilot score, because scores depend heavily on how actively each company asks for reviews.

Sources

Official pricing, terms, refund and privacy pages for each tool, read on 2026-10-18. Where two of a company’s own pages conflict, we say so. Where a term isn’t published, we write “not stated”.

Why there are no sample images

We only show images we made or have a license to use. We haven’t generated any headshots, and we won’t reuse the tools’ marketing images or customers’ photos, so this site has no example headshots.

What never affects the ranking

Commissions. Some links on this site are affiliate links (currently HeadshotPro, Aragon and Dreamwave), but the ranking order and verdicts come only from the criteria above. Each held the same spot (HeadshotPro #1, Aragon #2, Dreamwave #6) before its program approved us, and approval changed nothing on its review except the links and, where offered, a labeled affiliate promo code.
